□ Name: Jun Kuga
□ Journal: Jundere
□ Series: Hayate x Blade
□ Canon point: Chapter 60
□ History: http://hayatexblade.wikia.com/wiki/Kuga_Jun Wiki link for Jun and a http://hayatexblade.wikia.com/wiki/Hoshitori link to the information about the fighting system of her school.

Since the wiki is small I'll go ahead and give a brief history section to compliment it.

Jun is a member of the Kuga clan; a family of ninja that, in the past, served the Shizuma family as vassals. That isn't exactly how the relationships of the two families are nowadays but there is still some servitude there. Jun brings up this relationship quite often and has made it her goal to protect Yuho Shizuma - a girl of her own age and her friend - as if she were a princess.

Yuho has frail health and Jun would sometimes tell her stories about swords. Yuho eventually insisted that they both enrol to Tenshi Academy under the swordbearer program. Jun agrees, despite Yuho's health, because she rarely goes against Yuho's orders.

During their school career Jun never pushed herself and always picked opponents she was sure Yuho could beat. She met a girl called Ayana (her new roommate) and became best friends with her. Jun's relationship with Ayana was good, despite Jun's leaching and Ayana's violent retaliations, but eventually Ayana wound up in a bad situation and abandoned the swordbearer program. Jun was worried about her enough that when the protagonist entered the story she urged Ayana to team up with her.

Later Jun fought Ayana at Yuho's request. She didn't use her full strength and was about to win the duel when the rain starter, threatening Yuho's health and distracting Jun enough so that she was disqualified. After this Yuho was sent to hospital and Jun revealed the truth of their relationship that she'd been keeping hidden; they are half sisters!

After the hospital incident Jun doesn't change much. She's still a pervert and lazy where swordplay is concerned despite now fighting as a partnership of one (she uses two swords) and she only steps up her game when the idea of greeting Yuho's eventual return with and improved ranking is brought up.

Not that she shows much of an improvement in terms of motivation but, hey, baby steps!

□ Personality:

Jun is a comic relief character to her core. She is funny, energetic and easy going. She is friendly with a large number of her peers in school and often shows kindness towards them with no motive behind it. She makes friends quickly but she is even quicker when it comes to annoying them. She always seems to be the one to set the pace of a conversation with her friends. Even in some of her most emotionally trying scenes it takes a whole lot for her to drop this behaviour - one of these scenes in question involving her half sister's life being threatened. She swears (for the first time in canon) at her best friend and runs off without a second thought; costing her team the match they were competing in by grabbing her about-to-pass-out partner. Anything less than that doesn't really get anything other than her usual happy go lucky responses. She's really laid back that way.

Jun's family, the Kuga family, used to serve as vassals to the Shizuma family and as a result the two families are very close. Jun's sister in arms belongs to the shizuma family and because of the past relationships of their bloodlines Jun has taken it upon herself to take care of Yuho, her partner, and refers to her as a princess, despite the other girl's protests. Her loyalty to this relationship is one of her greatest strengths as it allows her to get motivated when she needs to. Growing up treating Yuho like this probably contributed to - or is a result of - her lack of respect for other girls' personal space. Jun's loyalty is clear when telling Yuho about any bad behaviour Jun gets up to is how they calm her down. She even gives up her plan to force people into skimpy maid dresses because she doesn't want Yuho to find out.

Despite loving swordplay Jun doesn't have the chance to go 'full force' much. This is because partner is sick and can't over exert herself. Jun would feel guilty if she made her desire to fight harder better so she keeps it hidden, happy enough to let her sister in arms take care of her battles for them, while Jun herself picked out opponents that were more than easy to beat (all the while denying that she was doing so on purpose). This way Yuho would get to fight and Jun could pretend she didn't like fighting as much as she really did.

Thanks to certain events - a fight in the rain which resulted in her partner's health worsening and going to hospital for an extended period of time - Jun starts to wield two swords instead of just one; something which no other student does and something which earns her the nickname "Ryoutoutsukai" which means a two sword fighting style and is a euphemism for bisexuality and a nickname Jun doesn't approve of one bit. She does this initially because she is following the orders of her 'princess' but then decides that it would be the right thing to do by working hard while her partner is gone and greeting her with a superior rank than they had before. That's how caring Jun is for people close to her; she'll even stop being a lazy pervert and that's pretty much her deal.

When Jun thinks her roommate is going to use Yuho and her as a "stepping stone" to the top she reveals that she can get angry. That seems to be the only thing that pisses her off and when her roommate/best friend does it Jun fights back by dragging up painful memories in retaliation, while also claiming that her roommate clearly has an ego problem. She continues this behaviour when Yuho's mothers accuses her of wanting Yuho out of the picture so that she can take over her family. She shouts at objects to her orders, despite the relationship between their two families. It's not something she should do because of honour and family stuff but, hell, she does it anyway. Basically if Jun has to defend someone close to her she has no problems offending authority figures, traditions or her other friends.

Jun is heavily implied to be a lesbian who loves tormenting other girls, despite any violence that she might receive as a result. When chosen to design a maid outfit for the class, thanks to her high speed ninja sewing technique, she designs a maid outfit that seems more like underwear - saying that she wouldn't mind seeing the other girls in it or being seen in it, and in turn is called an exhibitionist. She doesn't object to being called a pervert or an exhibitionist, she's almost proud of it!

As mentioned earlier, she quickly redesigns the costume after hearing about Yuho coming to visit from the hospital, though, because she doesn't want to upset her.

Jun also asks several girls to sleep in the same bed with her, to let her "warm their side" during the night, to come bathe with her and more. Offers which are frequently rejected or met with violence or insults. Her perverted and lecherous personality seemingly knows no bounds. She seems to have an influence on Hayate, acting as a big sister type role to her, and the two later start to share trains of thought about other girls and sexuality that no other characters could hope to understand.

Later into the series Jun's relationship with her roommate and best friend Anaya becomes less about annoying her with sexual harassment and getting assaulted for it and moves towards genuine affection to the point where she gets irritated when Anaya is worried that she had been groped by Jun while knocked out. Jun had never shown any annoyance and being called a pervert before - only pride - and this let us see that she acts slightly (not completely, mind you) differently to girl's that she genuinely likes. Ayana also lets her holds her hand to calm her down... even if Jun does try to make Anaya grope her seconds later. Why change the habit of a lifetime, right?

Jun's major weakness is her lack of motivation and a slight inferiority complex - she has convinced herself that she isn't as strong as she is and is constantly holding back and insisting she doesn't want to fight tough opponents because she would get beaten in seconds when this is simply not the case. It was all because she was trying to avoid hurting Yuho that she wound up developing this problem... and it could also be said that her lust is a weakness of hers as she gets herself beaten around a whole lot because of it, without learning her lesson.

Her biggest strength would be either her sword fighting talent, her ninja techniques, her ability to research people or her happy go lucky ways. Like I said already; it takes a whole lot for her to break that attitude... She is also a gifted sewer. She can sew an entire set of maid uniforms in under a week. What a girl.
□ Age: 16
□ Gender: Female/Female
□ Appearance: Jun is 5ft 3 inches tall. She has long, brown hair, blue eyes and a stupid smile on her face near constantly. Here posture is usually pretty good, probably as a result of serving a noble family, but in more private settings she hunches over and lounges around. Typical teenager stuff.

When not in her school uniform - a black jacket and black skirt - Jun wears tracksuits and sweatpants. Typical lounging styles of dress.
□ Abilities/Powers: Jun has been highly trained in swordsmanship since she was young. Her level is fairly high - especially for someone her age - but she does have an inferiority complex weighing her down until she gets serious. When serious her techniques can rival the student council members; the best of the best.

Her fighting style is unique to the Kuga ninja family and while we don't see exactly what that means - or what makes the style unique to her clan - we do see Jun using Kuga style techniques which nobody else in the series can do. She can attack the ground in order to send debris flying up to hurt her opponent and - her preferred way of using the technique - it can also be used to cut apart the enemies clothing. She claims to be able to shred away every single piece of fabric someone is wearing. She injects her Ki into the ground to do this.

Another Kuga technique we see is the ability to create a whirlwind out of sword strikes that end up in the opponent being cut from all sides. She... also uses this on clothes instead of to hurt people. There is no mention of using her Ki for this, but for the sake of powers being taken away I'd assume Ki was the method she uses.

The last technique we see is... the Kuga Style Sewing Technique. Jun uses this to sew an entire class worth of maid outfits twice in one week.

Being a student of the Hoshitori school, Jun can fight in a duo. Her specialization is protecting her sister in arms but further into the series, due to Yuho's hospitalization, she ends up wielding two swords, the only person in the academy to do so. Instead of being taken out of the sword bearer program, she is allowed to continue fighting. This means she takes on two opponents at once, something which is still easy for her to do, and further shows how polished her swordplay is.

She can also move fast like a ninja, has access to the basics of gag manga ninja tropes like vanishing into thin air, scaling the walls of a hospital building, climbing and jumping through trees and blending into her surroundings.
□ Personal Items: Jun has her sword and also Yuho's sword from the academy. Since the two of them are not rank A fighters they cannot modify their swords and they are just your average run of the mill swords. They aren't even sharp enough to count as weapons but if they do count for the rules of the game? She'll only bring her own sword.

She also has a porn stash from home. Typical porn magazines and hentai. She'll be bringing a few of her magazines.

Also a tracksuit for working out in.

Jun gently brushed her fringe out of her face with a wistful sigh. She wasn't sad about her current situation, she didn't really get sad about anything, it was just that she was having slight trouble living on her own.  A girl like her needed someone with her to remind her to do things like buy food before she was completely out or to not spend too much money on dirty sinful material. Having someone to ogle and someone to joke around with couldn't hurt either.

"Ah, I wish Yuho or Hayate were here..." was all she had to say (or sigh) on that matter. Without giving it much more thought - whining wasn't her strong suit - she hopped to her feet and made her way to her kitchen, rubbing the back of her head abesnt mindedly, as if looking for something to do with her hand. Her kitchen, huh? It was practically empty save for the bag of food she had purchased a little earlier that day and it had cost her practically all the money she had left... though there was another reason for her new found poverty. At least the time she had spent kicking it in the Taurus district had been amazingly fun, right? Though she highly doubted that her stomach would appreciate that fact the next time she ran out of grub to munch on.

She sighed heavily as she began to put away the chilled and frozen food she had bought. She should have done this sooner, really, but living alone was hard at first. She could be forgiven for waiting all day before cramming frozen burgers into the small freezer, right? The non frozen food would have to fend for itself on the wasteland that was the kitchen counter. Fight on, little meals.

When she was finished putting things away she took a few steps back to admire her work... what little of it there actually was. Her shoulders drooped and she turned away - some how she couldn't bring herself to look at her minuscule food supplies. How did this happen...? Oh. Right. Taurus district. Hostess clubs.

"Stupid Jun, stupid! what kind of idiot spends most of their months budget in less than seven days?" She scolded herself, the hand that had been rubbing her head now firmly over her face in shame. "...but I couldn't help it - those dancers were so cute and good at keeping me company..."

No. No whining, remember? Stay focused on things you totally can do, girl!

Speaking of... food and financial issues aside there was one problem that was bugging Jun way more than any of the others; she hadn't met a single one of her neighbours. Clearly this was a much more pressing issue than food or money! See, friends can give you advice, comfort and even spare leftover food when you found yourself in a pinch - and that was something Jun really needed right now. A friend with food. Or if they didn't have food then maybe they'd become a friend with benefits and let her eat them~

That thought alone was enough to spur Jun onto her balcony. She wasted no time before hoping onto the railings and looking around at the not-so-great view. Not that it mattered - her target was the rooms surrounding her own; and the (unsuspecting) people within. She took a quick pause to glance at the distance to the next balcony over before taking a deep breath. She took a second, slightly longer, pause to place her hands together in half-serious prayer.

"Philemon or whoever you are; please watch over me on my quest for food, fun and friendship. Don't let this place have taken away my amazing peeping and jumping prowess. Thanks, love ya."

Without waiting for a sign of confirmation she jumped towards the neighbours balcony. If anyone was at home they would only hear her landing if they had some kind of super hearing. She didn't go out of her way to mention it but she was a ninja of the Kuga clan, after all.

They might hear their balcony door sliding - or breaking - open, though. They might also catch a glimpse of a smiling young girl in a school tracksuit beaming their way.

"Pardon the intrusion!"
